502 Error only on admin

What issue or error are you experiencing?

I have been working on my site locally until this morning and now when I visit the wp-admin pages I get a 502 Bad Gateway error. The front-end of the site still works, but the admin pages are throwing this error now.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Launch the site, and try to go to the admin via any means (button from local or just entering URL /wp-admin/)

System Details

  • Local Version: Version 10.1.2+7004

  • Operating System (OS) and OS version: Mac OS Golden Gate 27.0 (26A428)

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Ok for those looking for a solution to this…

Make sure your PHP version is up to date.

My PHP was 8.2.9 - I upgraded it to 8.5.3 (the latest at time of posting) and that seemed to fix the issue.

Not sure why it was working until today but that was my solution anyway.
