Can't open WP Bakery options

Issue Summary

I’m unable to open any WP Bakery options on my Local site. The box opens, but the loading spinner never goes away.

Troubleshooting Questions

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?
    I only have 1 site, this is my first ever Local site. I can’t remember if I ever tried the Bakery before now. I have tried stopping/restarting the site, restarting the app, nothing works.

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?
    I am able to yes, but I’m not sure it would help.

  • Which version of Local is being used?
    6.4.0+5927

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?

    • Mac OS Big Sur 11.2.1

Security Reminder

Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

I got it to work by changing the PHP version from 8 to 7.3
