Hello, I am trying to clone an existing local site and its taking a very very long time. Is this normal? Its not a large site, only about 10 pages. I’m struggling to figure out what I can do in situations like this to improve my experience with local.
Hey @sdavis –
Even sites with a small number of pages might have a large size if the DB is big, or if there are lots of media items.
I’d recommend taking a look at the local-by-flywheel.log
file to see if there are any hints in there. See
“How do I retrieve Local’s log file?” for instructions on how to do so.

I have the same problem. It’s been “cloning” for hours without success.
I updated the Virtual Box and Flywheel is also the latest version.
I started the “source” site and updated too.
I can see that not even the folder doesn’t get created.
The cloning has been working earlier (a couple of months ago)
It’s running on Windows 10 Pro
Hey @krille –
Were you able to get this figured out? Can you please provide your local-by-flywheel.log
file? See
“https://local.getflywheel.com/community/t/how-do-i-retrieve-locals-log-file/3720” for instructions on how to do so.
Hi!
No success with cloning today either so the problem persists.
I attach the zipped log file if you can see what’s wrong
