Cloud Backs Ups Blocked

I have tried to authorise Google Drive on my account but it claims “This Google Drive account is already associated with a different Local user.”

I am the only user and I have checked the accounts authorsied to access my drive and local does have access

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

To my knowledge, I have not used it before on a different account.

Since posting, I seem to have managed to step closer to access. On 21 June, Local is now shown as having access on Google’s third-party apps and services page. Cloud Backups has now been added to the tools tab in the local app.

I am asked to log in, which I do, and then connect, and I get the same “this Google account is associated with a different local user,” and that is the endpoint.

I only have one Google account using this email. I have no knowledge of other local accounts. Can you check the database for .co ? I did change my Google Workspace email some time back from .co.uk , please see if there are any records for this address, please.

I see no reason to still be blocked, especially as Google has an authority to use Drive for .co. Could it be a server caching issue? I cleared mine and tried different browsers without a fix.

Can you reset the barrier to using it, please, as I need to use Local across two devices very soon. Thank you.

Hi @david_atlarge - I just see an account for your .co email and not .co.uk. You should be able to log in to Local Hub and delete this if you wish (option is at the bottom) and try to do a refresh that way. Just an FYI I edited your comment above to remove your emails so they aren’t hanging out in a public thread here.

Thanks for editing out my email addresses, I did not realsie my reply was posting to the forum.

I have checked my google account and those in workspace and there arena local or fly will accounts connected to drive but everytime I try to connect via the /hub.localwp.com/addons/cloud-backups I am accepted by google but it always returns a “this google account is already associated with a different user” . I tried to seset by deleting my local account but it stillreturns the error.

Nothing is connected, please unblock my account.

I have just unlinked your .co Google account from a second Local account you had created in 2023 that had +localwp in the email address. It should free up your Google account for re-use by your 2025 account (or the 2023 one).

Thank you, I am connected now, though it’s returning errors at the moment. I’m getting closer, step by step.

There were no other connections to LocalWP in Google. I even blocked Flywheel in case there was a tenuous connection. I did change my primary address on Workspace some time ago from a .co.uk account, maybe that had some influence.

I keep getting the same refusal using google drive. I have the logs, but as this is being posted to the forum, I want to be sure which ones you want so I can ‘wash’ them for sensitive data before sending. Thanks.
