# "Error establishing a database connection" what can i do?

### Issue Summary

I get “Error establishing a database connection” and my website is down

#### Troubleshooting Questions

- Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?  
All

- Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?  
Yes

#### Replication

#### System Details

- Which version of Local is being used?  
My website had trouble since the last update, i downgraded to 5.09.0

- What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?  
macOS Big Sur 11.1
