PLEASE HELP

I use WordPress with Elementor Pro and when I try to load the zip file that “Fontastic” ([https://fontastic.me/](https://fontastic.me/)) gives me, in the Elementor pro section to load custom icons, it simply does not load the .zip file. I have changed to all php versions, from v 7.3.5 to v 8.3.0 and also changed from nginx to Apache, but nothing seems to work.

I have created a backup of this installation in Local WP and uploaded it to SiteGround and there it does allow me to upload the .zip file with my custom Fontastic icons, so I can say without the slightest doubt that the problem is in Local WP.

Please could you help me solve this.

I use windows 11
database MySql 8.0.16
Local WP Version 9.0.3+6684

Hi @luismiguelrosero

I watched your video and I’m a little confused because in your demonstration your URL in your browser window shows `aume.org` but if you’re using Local your URL should either be something like `aume.local` if you’re using Site Domains for your Router Mode or something like `localhost:10003` if you’re using Local Host. Did you try changing your Local domain name to be the same as your live site?

Good day. Yes sir, that’s right, I have changed the name of my domain from aume.local to [aume.org](http://aume.org) in local wp so that it is identical to my real domain, therefore that is the reason why you can see this in my video domain name, but I am working on Local WP, that is exactly why I am writing to you asking for support in resolving this conflict, regardless of the domain name I am using, the problem lies in the fact that it does not allow me to load .zip files on my Local WP installations.

Hi @luismiguelrosero

Your domain in Local should never match that of your live site as it can lead to a number of issues, so for starters you should absolutely change that back per my note above:

> if you’re using Local your URL should either be something like `aume.local` if you’re using Site Domains for your Router Mode or something like `localhost:10003` if you’re using Local Host.

To test and see if that is indeed the cause here, you could create a new, blank site in Local and try uploading the zip there to see if it works.

I have already created a new site with a .local domain name, in fact it is called aumetwo.local, you can clearly see it in the video I attached and even so they DO NOT load my zip folder with my custom icons.

I repeat, it is a problem with Local WP, it has nothing to do with the fact that I have set the name of my real domain as the URL or that I use a name that local wp assigns by default, such as name.local, in any case , in my wordpress with Elementor pro it does NOT load the Fontastic custom icons zip file

Have you seen the video that I took on the task of recording for you?

Apologies for missing your video. As far as the URL change I was merely suggesting it was worth testing, and regardless of outcome best practice to not use your hosted domain in your Local app.

I don’t have a Elementor Pro license or Fontastic file to be able tor easily test and replicate, but I do see some permission type errors in your local logs. Here are some other things you could check on your machine to make sure they aren’t blocking:

- Do you have any antivirus, security, or firewall applications that could be blocking Local?
- Are you using this machine as an admin user?
- Are your files and folders writeable? [How to Fix File and Folder Permissions Error in WordPress](https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-fix-file-and-folder-permissions-error-in-wordpress/)
- Are you running other developer applications simultaneously? Apps like MAMP, XAMPP, or Docker for example.

Hi Luis,

Were you ever able to load your custom icons from Fontastic properly? I am having the EXACT SAME problem. If so, how did you resolve it? Also, thank you for uploading the video. It made it possible for me to see that my problem is exactly the same.

Are you also on Windows? Did you check through any of the suggestions I listed above?

The truth is NO. The response from the Local WP team was too mediocre and they didn’t tell me anything resolute, so I made the decision to switch to WordPress Studio. I find it much more solid and professional.

It’s possible there is some bug or necessary configuration for this to work @Hedwig. Before this post I can’t find that we’ve had any other users bring up issues with Elementor + Fontastic before and I don’t have licenses and files for these handy to be able to do any testing myself so I’ve just been trying to help troubleshoot through this thread.

@luismiguelrosero Thank you for giving Local a spin and for your patience and communication with us. Happy Developing 🙂

I was doing some more web searching on this, and found this Reddit post that sounded very similar:

The user linked back to this Local Forums post which they said fixed the issue for them:

> [@How to set your temp directory for Windows OS, PHP version 7/8](https://community.localwp.com/t/how-to-set-your-temp-directory-for-windows-os-php-version-7-8/35481):

> Alrighty to anyone using LocalWP, windows OS and PHP version 7/8, There is an issue where your temp folder is set to C:/Windows/Temp by default. This folder requires permissions that you usually wouldn’t grant. The temp folder is essential for us to upload images and use Elementor. So a simple fix is the following: Open your site folder Navigate to your PHP folder → conf → php Double-click php.ini.hbs Replace line 5 with this sys\_temp\_dir=“YOURDRIVE:\YOUR\PATH\TO\SITE\app\public\temp” My…

Sharing here in case any future users run into this problem on Windows; ensuring that the Temp directory is configured could be the key.
