# Internal Server Error

Hi,  
I am new to Local.  
If I have my local settings with web server Apache, I get this error message and can’t access the admin page  
The only way I can access is if I change it to nginx

My whole goal is to use local and then upload to a live site.

Any suggestions?

Hi Patty,

If you’re seeing that error with Apache then it’s most likely an issue with your `.htaccess` file in `app/public`.

One thing you can do is open up the Apache error log in the site’s `logs/apache` folder for more clues.
