# Is it possible to install Local on a secondary drive?

Hi there. So I have a very small C drive, but large D drive. Is it possible to install on the D drive or does it need to be on the primary? TIA

Hey @wolfie42 –

Right now, Local the application has to be on the primary hard-drive. You can move the site files to the secondary drive. The default location for new sites is set in “Preferences \> New Site Defaults \> Sites Path”
