Hi @etssaad

We have a Windows Troubleshooting guide below that goes over some common items worth checking. For example, make sure you’re running Local as an admin user, that you don’t have any security blockers, and that Local has access to update your Hosts file.

**Subject:** Still Facing the Issue After Trying Suggested Steps

Hello,

I followed all the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the Windows Troubleshooting guide, including:

✅ Running Local as an Administrator
✅ Checking for any security blockers (Disabled Antivirus/Firewall temporarily)
✅ Ensuring Local has access to update the Hosts file
✅ Restarting Local and my computer
✅ Reinstalling Local after deleting the **Local**.

However, I’m still getting the same **ERROR: no such file or directory, scandir** error when creating a new site.

Is there any other solution I can try? Or is there a way to manually install the missing PHP version?

Thanks in advance!

I also noticed another issue while trying to create a new site.

- When I select the **Preferred** environment, it defaults to:
**PHP 8.2.23 | Web Server: Nginx | MySQL: 8.0.35**
- However, when I switch to **Custom** environment:
✅ I can select the **Web Server** (Apache/Nginx)
✅ I can select the **Database** (MySQL version)
❌ But I **can’t select the PHP version** —it keeps **loading indefinitely** and never lets me choose a version.

Since my previous issue is related to missing PHP files, could this be connected? Is there a way to manually fix or install PHP versions for LocalWP?

Appreciate any guidance on this. Thanks!

Hi @etssaad

Is there anything unique about your connection? Are you using a VPN, network proxy or hotspot?

Is your device issued by your employer or do you use an employers network?

**Still Not Working After Trying Different Networks**

Hello,

Thanks for your response.

- I am **not using a VPN, network proxy, or hotspot**.
- I also tried switching to a **different network** , but the issue still persists.
- My device is **not issued by an employer** , and I am using my personal network.

Since the problem continues even after these checks, could there be another reason why Local is unable to detect or load PHP versions?

**Issue Fixed – Here’s What Worked for Me!**

The issue is now **fixed**! 🚀 Here’s what I did:

1️⃣ **Uninstalled LocalWP** completely.
2️⃣ **Deleted all LocalWP files** permanently from:

- `C:\Users\Your_Username\AppData\Roaming\Local`
- `C:\Users\Your_Username\AppData\Local\Local` (including the Local updater file).
3️⃣ **Uninstalled LocalWP** from the **Control Panel** as well.
4️⃣ **Reinstalled LocalWP** from scratch.

After doing this, everything started working perfectly! 🎯

Thanks for the support! Hopefully, this helps anyone facing the same issue. 😊
