Lost access to 2 website projects after reinstalling windows

Hi, I need help please. I had been working on two websites, but unfortunately Windows crashed and I had to reinstall it. Of course I also had to reinstall local, after reinstallation I lost access to my two projects, actually I believe I lost also the projects themselves. They are not visible on reinstalled local, they are visible on the elementor pron (which I use to work) page as hosted by third party.I tried to recover them by entering from the elementor page, but it is impossible. Is there any possibility that I can recover previous projects? Thanks!

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Sorry to hear about Windows crashing, @salamis.

If you happen to have a backup of your old Windows user files you could look for those sites in the Local Sites folder, then try to re-import them as described here.

On Windows the Local Sites folder you’d need to find from your backups will be at This PC → [your harddrive] → Users → [your username] → Local Sites.

Thank you for your answer, but I can’t do that because my computer died and I can’t recover anything from it. The biggest problem is that I don’t have access to these pages. It’s not even about losing all my work, but about access to the admin panel in WordPress. These were pages made on local in Elementor pro, which I have a subscription to make 3 pages. I lost access to two of them (the login was lost with the computer), when I try to enter the admin panel, ., I get the message ‘the site can’t be reached’. Is there any way I can regain access to the admin panel?

Is this a remote site you’re trying to log into or one that’s running in Local?

If it’s running in Local, please can you share your Local logs and a screenshot of what you see in your browser, including the address bar?

Retrieve Local’s Log File - Local.

If instead you’re seeing “the site can’t be reached” when trying to log in to a remotely hosted WP site, you could try talking to the host for suggested next steps.

I’m not sure I’m clear, probably not. So I’ll try to be: I worked on them on local so they were displayed as local sites. My mistake, I didn’t save the password to log in to the administrator panel. When I reinstalled Windows, I had to reinstall locals, but on ‘local sites’ these 2 projects were no longer there. I am currently working on a blog and this page is visible as local sites and I have access to it. I don’t know if I am expressing myself clearly. In any case, when I had to change the computer (this time I saved the password to log in to local and to the administrator panel in Word Press), of course I did not regain access to the lost pages. I tried to enter through them through Elementor pro, but it is not possible. The pages to which I tried to regain access are training.local and nieznanewłochy1.local;. I am attaching photos. Is it possible to regain access to these pages? Do you mean I should contact Word Press?

Thanks for these screenshots, @salamis, that’s been helpful!

The “site can’t be reached” error could mean that Local could not update your hosts file to point your training.local domain at Local. The most common reason we see for that is security or antivirus software. You can check our guide here:

If you go through all of the steps there and still can’t solve the issue, one thing you can try is to change Local’s “router mode” from “site domains” to “localhost” on Local’s settings page under the “Advanced” tab. You may find the site is then accessible to you (but it will use a localhost address, rather than a .local domain).

If none of this helps, please can you share Local’s log file?
