I’m building a site on local and would like to be able to port it online.
I can’t re-point the domain until the site is ready to go live. The current site is on wix.
Can I get hosting and start online without the domain? Or do i have to wait until the i’m ready to go live?

Most hosts will allow you to start a site up and utilize a temporary domain until you’re ready to point your DNS and take your site live by adding your primary domain. It all depends on where you want to host so if you have a host in mind I’d recommend checking out their documentation to see what they offer
