Hi @saqib56

Local is likely having trouble making some connections and updating on your machine. Since you’re on Windows can you check some things?

- Are you running this application as an administrator?

- Do you have any antivirus, security, or firewall applications that could be blocking Local?

Here are some good things to check for starters: [Help! I'm running into an EPERM error with the hosts file on Windows](https://community.localwp.com/t/help-im-running-into-an-eperm-error-with-the-hosts-file-on-windows/3508)

</div>

Yes it is running as an administrator and what will be the blocking thing?

I can’t say for certain. Are you able to check if you have any security, antivirus or firewall setups? Maybe Windows Defender, Kapersky, etc

Are you running other developer applications simultaneously? That could also cause similar issues. Apps like MAMP, XAMPP, or Docker for example.

If you change your Router Mode to Localhost does that change the behavior (Preferences\>Advanced\>Router Mode)

You can find the Preferences to start clicking on the profile icon in the upper left hand corner of your Local app.

It’s tough to say @saqib56 but something in your specific machine is acting as a blocker. This could either be another permission issue, security feature, or program. Another thing you might check is that your network connection is working and that you have plenty of disk space on your machine.
