# Open AdminNeo fails on Windows when PowerShell 7 is installed

# Bug Summary

Clicking “Open AdminNeo” on any site repeatedly fails with an `EINVAL` error. The database browser never opens. The site itself runs normally.

# Steps to reproduce

1. Install PowerShell 7 on Windows

2. Open Local and start any site

3. Click “Open AdminNeo” in the database section

4. AdminNeo fails to open — the following error appears in the Local log:

# Environment Info

- Windows 10 (build 26200) x64

- MySQL 8.0.35

- Local 10.0.0+6907

- PowerShell 7.6.0 installed alongside Windows PowerShell 5.x

# **Root cause (identified)**

`main/_helpers/getWin32FullPath.js` inside `app.asar` spawns `powershell.exe` to resolve the temp directory path, but passes only a minimal environment (missing `process.env`). This causes PowerShell to print its “Welcome to PowerShell!” banner to stdout, which gets captured and prepended to the actual path, producing an invalid directory name containing a newline character. This affects any Windows user with PowerShell 7 installed.
