# Querious x Local

Hi I cam accross a post recently regarding [large databases](https://community.localwp.com/t/install-large-databse/37323)

In it there was one specific comment about [dealing with issues with SQL queries with an app called Querious](https://community.localwp.com/t/install-large-databse/37323/5)

I was wondering if anybody in the community had used it with Local and if so, how were you able to connect it with a Local database.

Yeah, I have been using [Querious](https://store.araelium.com/querious/) for many years. You could either use Socket or TCP/IP to connect. There are a few more steps involved with TCP/IP. You have to create a user and grant access and find the port number for the site. The easiest way is just to use the Socket path for the site and the correct database credentials. Please see the screenshots below.

Using TCP/IP to connect to Local MySQL databases:

```auto
mysql -e "CREATE USER 'root'@'127.0.0.1' IDENTIFIED BY 'root'; GRANT ALL ON *.* TO 'root'@'127.0.0.1';"
mysql -e "SHOW VARIABLES WHERE Variable_name = 'port';"

```
