Running Local alongside IIS

Issue Summary

I need to run Local alongside IIS. I can run pretty much any other local web server alongside IIS, so i am truly baffled by the amount of “disable IIS” and unanswered similar questions. How could such a basic requirement be blatantly overlooked by what is claimed to be an “easy” wordpress installer?

Troubleshooting Questions

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?
    All sites

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?
    No.

Replication

Describe the steps that others can take to replicate this issue. If you have screenshots that can help clarify what is happening, please include them!
IIS homepage pops up instead of my website, regardless of the router mode.

Security Reminder

Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Wow. Did not expect 10 days with no response (not even an answer, just any response) to an issue where your project can’t even start running. People can’t and won’t use an unmaintained project. I’m disappointed, local looks so good on paper, too bad it just doesn’t deliver. I’ll just get xampp and get the job done.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. However, your answer is as useless as it is on all the other threads opened by other people having the same issue. It is simply NOT WORKING!

The help articles are not giving a clue, and this “support” joke was just a massive waste of my time. I uninstalled Local anyway, and went with xampp. Yes it doesn’t offer all the features and ease of use that Local promises but at least it works. Bye.
