Ever since the update, I can’t make a New Site.

This is the error it gives:

I noticed if I use an older version of PHP, it works.

@sword90

I started searching that error you originally shared:

```auto
dyld: Symbol not found: __ZNSt3__ 113basic_filebufIcNS_11char_traitsIcEEE4openEPKcj
```

I’m seeing some threads with this exact error around the web, in most cases it seems the fix was updating to a more recent MacOS, at least Ventura.

Are you able to update your OS any further to see if that resolves the issue?

I updated my Mac, but I still get the error. Maybe my Mac is too old? It’s Big Sur.

From the Local side of things anything from MacOS 10.15 on up should still work, unless there is something other external conflict happening. Maybe after updating you could try a big refresh here with these steps:

- Export any sites that you have on Local and save them to a folder somewhere on your computer: [Backup a Local Site - Local](https://localwp.com/help-docs/getting-started/how-to-backup-a-local-site/)

- Fully uninstall Local from your computer: [Uninstall Local - Local](https://localwp.com/help-docs/troubleshooting/uninstalling-local/)

- Install the latest version of Local on this link: [Releases - Local](https://localwp.com/releases/)

- Once installed, please restart the computer.

- When the computer is restarted and turned on, close any applications that automatically run in the background (AntiVirus, Firewall, and other Developer applications included).

- Check and see if the issue still persists. If so, please provide us with an updated log: [Retrieve Local’s Log File - Local](https://localwp.com/help-docs/troubleshooting/retrieving-locals-log-file/)

Still gives the error.

The logs are still full of the same error with the `dyld: Symbol not found:` message. Searching this on in the Forums here and turning up a lot of similar solutions to the above one I shared where updating the OS was enough to resolve this:

So far, I do really like the Local server as it downloads and installs WP automatically. This is a terrific feature and saves me some trouble. However, I can’t access the WP dashboard unless I select php 7.3.5. My concern is that if I do any client work, I may need to be using a newer version of PHP. Any help would be much appreciated. For some users it looks like they had to try reinstalling PHP:

I’ll just use the previous version. It works fine.

Is there a way I can get it to stop sending me update notifications?

Thanks for your help! I appreciate it.

Okay sounds good we have some instructions for downgrading here if you need:

> **[Downgrade Local Version](https://localwp.com/help-docs/troubleshooting/downgrade-local-version/)**

> Downgrading Local may be used to troubleshoot issues presented with a newer version or other various reasons. We recommend running Local on the latest version available when possible.

There isn’t a way to disable those update notifications at this time, but let us know if you need anything else 🙂
