### Hello. Regarding SSL, Firefox is showing an error with SSL (https://). Other browsers work fine. How can I secure SSL in Firefox? Local version: Latest version Windows 11

Hi @shige! This is a known bug we have in our backlog as this time:

> [@SSL on Mac not working in Firefox](https://community.localwp.com/t/ssl-on-mac-not-working-in-firefox/42441/2):
>
> Thanks for this bug report and for the helpful screencast, @AaronChaos. This seems specific to Firefox (including Firefox Developer Edition). I can only reproduce it there. It seems the way Local generates certificates doesn’t meet [Firefox’s expectations for self-signed certs](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/59738140/why-is-firefox-not-trusting-my-self-signed-certificate). I have logged this as a bug for the Local team to address in a future update. For now SSL should work for you in Chrome or Safari, but I’m sorry that it isn’t working by default in your preferred browser.

Apologies @shige that bug I linked is MacOS specific and you’re on Windows 11 I see.

You might be running into another bug, or conflict. Here are some troubleshooting steps from another Windows user recently that you might try:

> [@Can't access site locally (ERR\_TUNNEL\_CONNECTION\_FAILED)](https://community.localwp.com/t/cant-access-site-locally-err-tunnel-connection-failed/51515/7):

> I got a bit further. It seems to be a security issue. I found that although the router mode is set to site domains and the SSL is available and trusted, when I click on the WP Admin or Open Site Buttons, Local does not open the page using HTTPS but using plain HTTP. This seems to work fine in Firefox but unfortunately not in Edge. And as edge hides the HTTP:// part of the URL, I did not notice it. When I change the URL to include HTTPS, it works just fine slight_smile So, I am guessing that…

Hello. Thank you for your reply.
Until last year, there were no problems with “https,” but recently, SSL doesn’t work in Firefox.
I’ve set it to “https” in the WordPress settings, but it still doesn’t work.
It works fine with SSL protection in Edge.
How can I configure Firefox to enable SSL protection?

Did you recently update your Local version, OS version or Firefox @shige? It seems mostly Windows users are still able to keep things working on Firefox although there might be a bug with the WP-Admin specifically. Are you talking about that or when you visit the front end of the site?

Hello. Thank you for your reply.
The Windows 11 update was yesterday.
The Firefox version was updated yesterday to 150.0.3. After installing the local version yesterday, I added the site.
Then, when I open it in Firefox using Wp-Admin, “The connection is not secure” is displayed in the URL bar.
Edge and Chrome display it securely without any problems.
Is this a Firefox setting issue? Is it related to any exception or permission settings?

I’m doing some testing on this @shige, and I can replicate Firefox errors on my Windows 11 VM. So it might be that the bug is present in multiple OSes now. I’ll check with our developer team on that. If you’d like to utilize HTTPS, for now you’ll have to fall back to Edge or another browser option.
