Just wanted to say a huge thank you for Local on Linux—it’s saved me years of headache.
One big issues though: the recent shift to host‑rooted PHP/MySQL/Nginx (away from containers) is a real security risk for Linux users. A compromised plugin/theme could hit my home dir directly. In other words, one infected plugin or theme and I’d say bye-bye to my whole system. VM is not an option for me now.
Isolation is key for many of us, so this sadly pushes me toward other alternatives like rootless Podman setups. I’d love to return if a sandboxed option ever comes back.
Thanks again for all you do for the WP community!
