Cant find the discussion box, so that i can enable comments on the bottom of each page

Hello, Im trying to add comments under some of my pages, but cant seem to figure out how. Ive read, that it can be enabled in a “Discussions” box, when editing a specific page, however it is nowhere to be found. I do have the box “Allow people to post comments on new articles” in Settings->Discussion checked. I also tried switching to basic theme and I deactivated all plugins. I have WPDiscuz plugin, but dont really know what to do.
If there is a more simple way to implement comments please let me know.
Thank you so much in advance

Hey @helena

It’s hard to say exactly what’s going on. I haven’t tried using the WPDiscuz plugin, so you might want to reach out to their support to see if they have any tips.

In general though, you mention trying to enable comments on a WP page. By default, comments are usually built into the regular “Post” template. Pages, on the other hand, you need to add comments manually. This is especially true for Block themes, which are the kind of theme that is used on newer, default WP themes.

To add a comment block to a page:

  • edit the page you want to add comments to in WordPress admin
  • navigate to where you want comments and add a new block
  • you can click through to the “Comments” block or search for the block using the forward slash ‘/’
  • the comment block will ask if you want to enable comments, click that button to enable comments

Here’s a video covering that workflow:
