You could also explore solving this by using direnv (available in Local 10.1.1 or higher). Your agent sessions should then use Local’s PHP as long as they run from the site root.

Using direnv with Local

By default, using tools like wpcli with a Local site requires clicking the “Site Shell” button for any site you want to work with.
