How do I edit the file permissions of /var/tmp so my plugin can write to it?

Issue Summary

I have a plugin that needs to write to /var/tmp but I am getting an error saying that the directory is not writable

Fatal error: Uncaught Mpdf\MpdfException: Temporary files directory “/var/tmp/mpdf” is not writable

This is the first site I have created and set up, it is a subdirectory Multisite

System Details

  • Local 6.3.0+5756

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?

    • Windows 10 Professional

logs can be attached if required
