Local Community

Local is not opening

Hi,
I try to open Local but nothing is happening, no error message, nothing. I’ve tryed already to uninstall and reinstall but it still doesn’t work.
Does anybody had this problem ?

Sorry for the trouble! Is this on macOS or Windows?

If it’s on Windows, does Local ever show in the taskbar when it’s starting up?

Finally, have you tried restarting your computer recently? There may be a lingering process that’s keeping it from opening.

Yes it’s on Windows. Nothing appears when I click on the icon, it
doesn’t start at all.

I’ve tryed to restart but nothing changed.

What type of PC do you have? What’s the manufacturer and model?

If it’s Acer, I’m seeing some hints of the ePowerEvent.exe process causing problems with Electron applications on Windows.

No it’s a Surface Pro 3.

Can you please provide your local-by-flywheel.log file? Please see
"How do I retrieve Local’s log file?" for instructions on how to do so.

Also, considering the Local window isn’t even showing, you’ll need to find the log file using the File Explorer in Windows. Here’s the path you’ll need to enter in the bar at the top: %AppData%\Local by Flywheel\local-by-flywheel.log

It doesn’t look like the log made it through when you e-mailed your response.

Can you please try replying directly in the forums?

Also, do you have existing sites in Local that you’re trying to access or are you just wanting to get up and running with Local for this latest project?

I just use Local once, so I just started a new website. Do not worry about this one, as one of your colleague suggested, I am using a demo website for now and I will move it to the local as soon as the problem will be fixed.

Can you please attach the local-by-flywheel.log file directly? Unfortunately, screenshots of the log only show so much.
