Stuck on getting ip

what can i do?

Hi @ageibert,

Sorry about that! One common solution for this is to forcefully restart the VM. See How can I forcefully restart the Local by Flywheel VM?

If this doesn’t help, please provide your entire log file and version of Local. Also, if you’re running a software firewall, anti-virus, or general internet security suite, let us know.

i forced the restart of the vm in all possible ways.

the shutdown comes from me shutting everything down and booting down my mac.

it would be so great, if you could help me. i lost 20 hours of work by now with local not running anymore and don’t retrieving my needed websites for my client.
i can’t even ssh into the machine to restore the sites databses manually (no backup was made from local the last time i shut down my computer …) ;(

What version of Local is this?

Also, what’s the state of the VM in VirtualBox? Is it “Running”?

Please try the following:

  1. Power off/Shutdown the local-by-flywheel VM in VirtualBox
  2. Go to the settings for the local-by-flywheel VM
  3. Go to the Display tab and increase the Video Memory to 16MB
  4. Go to the System tab and increase the Base Memory to 2GB
  5. Re-open Local

Can you also try this?

  1. Quit Local if it’s running
  2. Open VirtualBox
  3. Right-click on local-by-flywheel and go to Close » Power Off if it’s not already shut down
  4. Click “Global Tools”
  5. Remove any “Host-only Networks” that you see under “Host Network Manager”. Their names will be something along the lines of vboxnet0
  6. Re-open Local
