Stuck on Local configuration: Host Machine

Hi,

I’m using Local for months without any problem, but today, I was unable to start Local. I’ve read a lot of topics and did a lot of tricks, I read in the topics, but nothing helped.

I did remove Local and reinstall it, but still can’t get work again.

Sorry for the trouble!

Can you list out what steps you did to uninstall?

I have deleted every related files and the app itself. I did it with AppCleaner app. Than I removed VirtualBox the same way. After removal, I restarted the Mac and installed everything again.

Did I miss something? I really want to solve it asap, as I have to work on the site.

It may’ve missed some Docker info.

Try running the following in Terminal then relaunching Local.

"/Applications/Local by Flywheel.app/Contents/Resources/extraResources/virtual-machine/vendor/docker/osx/docker-machine" rm -f local-by-flywheel

Can you open VirtualBox.app and verify it’s working correctly? It seems like something weird is going on with VirtualBox considering Local keeps wanting to re-install it.

Hey @Surbma ,

Our new Local v5 (and later) doesn’t require VirtualBox :tada: which means it’s way more reliable and faster to startup.
