Uh-oh! MySQL was unavailable when Local tried to back up

My Mac suddenly crashed and restarted for no apparent reason while I was in the middle of working on a Local site. It seems to be restarting itself frequently overnight while in sleep mode (kernel panic…?)

ANyway, I now cant access the site I was workng on:

“Error establishing a database connection”

Also, if I stop the site in Local App, I get this error popup:

“Uh-oh! MySQL was unavailable when Local tried to back up Flip 2’s database. Please check the local-by-flywheel.log file for more details.”

Have I lost all my work? Please help! Error log attached. Thanks.

Hey @murph -

With the second error popup this might mean that Local cannot find the database. Do you have a backup of your site or database that you could restore from?

You can also restore your site using the Local Site files. In this help doc there are some instructions on how to do that towards the bottom: https://getflywheel.com/wordpress-support/how-to-import-a-wordpress-site-into-local/

Thanks for the reply Keegan.

Unfortunately, it seems the database was wiped completely, somehow, so I couldnt salvage the setup.

Oh well!

Thanks for your help anyway.

So sorry to hear that.

Happy to help anytime!
