Visual Studio and Atom cannot see PHP

I’m a newbie to Local and am learning WP hence why I installed Local by Flywheel. For my editors I installed both Atom and Visual Studio but both are coming back with the following errors…

In Visual Studio…

additionally from the cmd prompt in Win10

C:\Users\username>php -v
'php' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

I know php is installed and this is confirmed in Local and when I run a PHP file in the browser it works. So what do I need to do to set up my environment for these editors? I’ve tried looking for php and can’t seem to find it, where on earth has Local put it?
