Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi there @Eldershope1 -

A few questions here -

What PHP version are you using on the site?

I noticed that in the Local logs, there is an error message “Error checking for latest version of WordPress” - which could mean that something on your machine is blocking Local’s request to WordPress.org. Do you possibly have a Firewall or Antivirus software that could be blocking that?

Finally, sometimes these errors occur with a theme or plugin generating PHP errors - are you experiencing this error when you try to install any plugin or a specific one?

Hello @sambrockway

I’m using the 8.1.9 PHP version

And yes I’m facing this error when try to install the plugin and theme.

There is no Firewall or Antivirus software.

I have tried the solution mentioned below thread:

I have tried it from my Windows PC. but I got the below error:

Thanks!

Hi @Eldershope1

Are you running Docker alongside Local? Running other developer applications simultaneously could be a cause or contributor to the issue.

Another option too, have you tried to downgrade your PHP version?
