When editing in my builder (Bricks Builder) and attempting to save my progress I get an error notification that says “Error on save: HTTP code 405” (also see screenshot of error attached).
Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.
Two quick things to check here. One is to try resaving your Permalinks. The second is disabling plugins. Especially if you have any plugins that are for security, redirection, etc. They might be interfering, but if you’re not sure you can just disable everything except what you’re using.
I’m only a little stumped here since a 405 isn’t something I come across too often. Another thing I’ve found is that it can sometimes be caused by a browser issue. Could you try using a different browser to see if that has any change?
Here is another user who was running into the same error when using Divi and one of our Local team members provided some additional troubleshoot questions:
Since the native WordPress items are working I’m assuming there is some plugin/theme conflict at play here or maybe some additional configuration needed for these to work locally. Have you checked any documentation or support forums for the plugin or theme you’re using to see if they have any recommendations for working locally or troubleshooting steps?
I tried seaching around for Bricks documentation but couldn’t find anything specifically about 405s since that is kind of a general error message. Still I checked their forum here and found a lot of users are able to use it and Local, so this might be a good place to create a post and see if someone with more specific knowledge of the builder to assist:
As far as WP Codebox, are you having trouble saving a snippet? This might be helpful:
Otherwise you could try their support or FB group here:
