First I got a ‘App is damaged and should be moved to Trash’ (I think that’s not exact wording but it goes along those lines). Thaaat was it. I verified the SHA1 too and it was also the same but I did used The Unarchiver to extract it. Everything worked fine after extracting the app with Archive Utility instead of The Unarchiver. I think we can mark this one as solved.
