Can't start Local. Stuck on "Checking System"

I recently updated Local, and now when I try to start it up, it gets stuck on “Checking System.” It doesn’t move on from there.

I’m also having the same problem. Checking the log, it gets stuck on

info: [main/autoUpdater] Update for darwin-x64-production-v1.4.2 is not available

I restarted my laptop and this resolved the issue for me.
