Error when clicking on wpadmin to try open Local

What issue or error are you experiencing?

Hi. I get an error message when i click on wpadmin to try get Local to work. The error says uh-oh! Unable to start site
Error command failed.

Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. It is a 64bit windows 11 snd i click on where it says download logs then log folder says the followinglook at photo of log folder.

When you click on the Download Local Logs button in Local it should generate a zip file, and then you can just drag and drop that here to attach it.

Was this your first time using Local, or was it working normally until an update?

Hi, I tried dragging and dropping it here, it would not let me, so I had to copy and paste, because when I tried to drag it, it would just say copy. I hope it comes out.
This is the first time Im using local.
But now this morning, local wont even start when I click wpadmin. It just says starting, but it never starts. Then I cant even delete the program, when I click alt, ctrl and delete. I have to shut down the computer every time.
When I first downloaded local, I kept getting a pop up saying destributable c needed or something. I kept clicking ok, but it kept popping up, so I pressed cancel and I think thats when it downloaded Local.

I can’t access your log that way, it will have to be attached.

Maybe you could try a full uninstall and reinstall of Local. Here are some steps:

  • Export any sites that you have on Local and save them to a folder somewhere on your computer: Backup a Local Site - Local

  • Fully uninstall Local from your computer: Uninstall Local - Local

  • Install the latest version of Local on this link: Releases - Local

  • Once installed, please restart the computer.

  • When the computer is restarted and turned on, close any applications that automatically run in the background (AntiVirus, Firewall, and other Developer applications included).

  • Check and see if the issue still persists. If so, please provide us with an updated log: Retrieve Local’s Log File - Local
