Can I export a site out of Local on one computer and import it into Local on another computer by overriding the files in the Local Sites directory?

I’m trying to figure out how to use Local on both my desktop PC and my laptop. Not all of my websites in Local exist on my hosting account, but I’d like to be able to work on them from both of my computers.
My solution to this was to export my site from Local when I’m done working on it for the day and save the files to a shared network folder. Then, when I’m on my laptop, I can import the site into Local.
The only problem that I have with this is if the site already exists in Local and I try to import it, I have to give it a new name and site domain.
Instead, is it possible to simply overwrite all of the files in the site folder with my exported files or will this cause any issues?
