Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted

What issue or error are you experiencing?

I was working on a very large page of my Wordpress site when I encountered a server error. I have the following error message:

fatal error: allowed memory size of 268435453 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in /user/kiko/local sites/mmyae-cthulhu-1/app/public/wp-includes/meta.php on line 1194

I think (but tell me if I’m wrong) that I should increase the server’s memory. How can I do this? Where can I find this setting in Local software?

Thank you for your help.
If I don’t find a solution, I lose everything!

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @gilloo

We have some instructions at the bottom of our performance guide for doing this in Local that should be helpful:

If you think something on your website is a recourse hog you can also use plugins like Query Monitor or Server IP and Memory to help troubleshoot.
