How can I change the port for a local site?

I think Local was using the port 80 or 3000 for my sites, but a recent conflict with MAMP caused that to change to port 10008.

Can I change the port back? I’ve checked the Preferences and didn’t see any options.

In order for Local to use pretty URLs, it needs to use port 80. See this reply for more detail:

But basically, you can either:

  1. Only use one app at a time, or
  2. Switch Local to use localhost Router Mode, found under “Preferences > Advanced > Router Mode”
