I have a wp files i received and im not familiar with wp nor local. i want to clone this website locally and then upload it to a remote machine on aws lightsail. followed some tutorials but got stuck with the db creation locally
Hello @hibranda - first of all, welcome to the Local community! 
Have you had a chance to review this help doc about how to import a site into Local?
You’ll need a wp-content folder as well as a sql database dump for it to properly import.
If you have the proper files you can just drag and drop the zip file right onto Local.
