Downloaded Local → developed my WordPress.org website → bought domain name from Go Daddy – how do I now link the website to the domain? Will then seek and purchase hosting.
I’m a real newbie and building this website for a local very small charity with almost no budget. Next step will be to seek and purchase hosting which I hopefully will find for free.
Appreciate some help please.

You have some options, it will depend on where you choose to host your website. It sounds like you purchased your Domain but not the hosting plan with GoDaddy.
If you choose to host with Flywheel or WP Engine, you can use the Local Connect feature to connect your Local website directly through the app. More information about Local Connect can be found here:
However, if you’d like to choose a different host you can connect your Local site to that host by either:
You can export your Local site (right-click site, “Export”) and then import those files into your host.
Alternatively, you can use a migration plugin like WP Migrate!
