What issue or error are you experiencing?
I’m facing the problem after installing local and creating first site on WordPress by using local by flywheel
What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc
Attach your Local Logs here (
Help Doc - Retrieving Local’s Log)
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.
Are you on Windows? If so you might start here:
This is usually caused by the hosts file being set to read-only or locked by anti-virus.
1. Remove Read-only Attribute
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
Right-click on the hosts file and go to “Properties”
2. Anti-Virus/Internet Security
Kaspersky Total Security
Open Kaspsersky Total Security
Go to “More Tools”
Thank you so much But sir i confirm that the hosts file Read only button is uncheck and i do not have any kind of antivirus except window security.
Please guide me for further step.
Could you provide some more details to help us take a further look?
What is your OS version? For example Windows 7/10/11?
What version of Local are you on?

The errors in your log are repeating like this:
2023/07/15 18:10:46 [emerg] 4380#10684: bind() to 0.0.0.0:80 failed (10013: An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions)
It looks like there is still some permission or security setting from your machine that is blocking Local.
One thing you could try to get going is to change your Router Mode. Preferences>Advanced>Router Mode and switch it to Localhost.
Are you running other developer applications simultaneously? That could also cause similar issues. Apps like MAMP, XAMPP, or Docker for example.
Some other forum threads here that might help:
Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced system settings > Performance / Settings > Data Execution Prevention > Turn on DEP for all programs and services
I found that port 443 was using by vmware-hostd.exe. I removed VMWare and now its working fine.
Hi Nick I’m also using wamp but when i try local it will be proper shutdown.
all of your suggestion i tried but still there is an error
I am trying to run my website by using local
If you change your Router Mode to Localhost does that help? If you’re running WAMP at the same time that could be part of the problem.
You can find your Router Mode by going to Preferences>Advanced
