Imported website using original login, I want to use a different login with LOCAL

What issue or error are you experiencing?

Two websites with same login details

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Still a novice here.
I have, after having problems with my Local site, deleted it. Then exported our clubs website and imported it into Local. All fine. However I cannot easily distinguish which site is which. Can the login on the Local site be changed. I am using latest Firefox browser
UPDATE.
I opened the Local site and all seemed okay, until I came to make some changes. I thought I would edit My profile from my shown name to a nickname and a different set of colours to help me distinguish which site I was on, None of my changes were actioned, my name remand as it was and the colours did not change when the page was changed. I tried to activate a plugin but that did not complete. It seems as if I can edit the imported website on the screen but nothing is saved or actually changed. Any editing was shown on the Firefox tab with the two ping pong balls going left right, left right for some time until I give up.
Any advise would be really helpful but please remember I am a non Tech OAP.

System Details

  • **Local Version:**7.4.30 PHP or MYSQL8.0.35

  • **Operating System (OS) and OS version:**WIN11 Pro

Hope this is right, please delete after checking.

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Progress.
I have found that when I have made an alteration to a page and the ping-pong ball is going left - right…on the tab and stays doing this for some time that if I click the browser tab a second time the change is then activated. For example I opened my profile and changed the public seen name to a Nick Name. In this instance from my actual name to: ’ ***Test Site’ I then sat and watched the back and forth on the tab with no change to the profile name.
After a few minutes I accidentally click the tab, the profile name changed
After that I set 2 Plugin’s to update, again the left right in the browser tab and noted the warning in that the update might take some minutes. I clicked the tab and the updates were immediately shown as updated.

Hi @ajw1100

If you have access to the WordPress dashboard you can simply click on User and then create a new one of yourself if that’s what you’re referencing regarding a different user. Or you can use Site Shell and CLI to do this as well. We have some steps here:

Regarding your other changes, there might be caching in the way. You may need to try clearing the cache and cookies on your browser and then closing your active sessions to start with a clean slate.

How do I clear my browser’s cache?

You may also try utilizing a different browser (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer if you’re using Chrome for example) or an Incognito window to troubleshoot further.

The easiest way to open an Incognito window is with the keyboard shortcut combination Ctrl-Shift-N (Windows) or Command-Shift-N (macOS). Another way is to click on the menu on the upper right — it’s three vertical dots — and select New Incognito Window from the list.

You might also need to check over your plugins and themes if those are storing any cache:
