Inconsistent plugin installation fails + slow load

Hey guys!

Thanks for having me. I need help with plugin installation on Local.

This is a fresh set-up and my first time doing this.
Tried to upload Beaver Builder Pro plugin onto my local site, it failed. Tried installing the lite version it through the repo and it worked.

CSS Hero also worked as an upload but Astra theme failed.

"Unpacking the package…

Installing the plugin…

The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.

Plugin install failed."

No idea what I’m doing wrong. Also Working on local is wayyyy slower compared to doing things on flywheel’s live servers. Am I missing something?

Details:
Running Win 10
Windows Firewall turned on - not blocking Local not that I know of
Running on Chrome

Hi @ufo8mydog,

I’d recommend trying the Local 2.0.7 pre-release. We added “Faster Docker Volumes” in that version for Windows and you should see a drastic site speed improvement.

Here’s the link: https://local.getflywheel.com/community/t/local-by-flywheel-2-0-7-pre-release/

Hey Clay, thanks but what about the plugin installation failure. It
happened with quite a number of plugins that I am able to install on my
live flywheel site.

Are you installing the theme using the theme installer or the plugin installer?

If you’re using the wrong one you will run into the The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found. error.

Ah yes, thanks about the plugin. I’m new to the WP ecosystem. That said,
would you recommend me to install the latest pre-release version or the
august one?

Installed the sept pre-release. its faster but not as fast as doing thing on the live flywheel servers :frowning:
is faster docker volume enabled by default and if there is way to tweak things to go faster?

Hi @ufo8mydog,

Can you please update to 2.0.8 and let me know if the problem persists?

You can check the status of Faster Docker Volumes by going to Preferences (click menu icon in top-left) » Advanced.
