Installing LOCAL on a different partition

Hi,

I’m a new user and was able to find a 2-year-old post on this subject, but no clear resolution.

Is it possible to have much/most/all of LOCAL installed on a different partition in order to minimize space used on the C-drive? Mostly, I’m interested in keeping the sites away from the C drive.

I’m not quite done setting up WordPress, waiting to see whether there’s a way to do it.

Many Thanks,
Jordan

@Jordan

Sorry that its not very clear. Unfortunately there isn’t a really good way to do this in the app yet. However, if you are looking to save the most space on your C drive, you could consider relocating the Virual Box disk. (named disk.vmdk). That is what takes up the most space will make the most difference. We have a few posts from @clay in the forums how to accomplish this…

  1. Is it possible to move the disk.vmdk file and relink it to Local by Flywheel
  2. My system is on different partition

Thank you very much, andypeters!

I now figured that I could specify a path where the database (I’m assuming) and the WP setup reside. That should probably be good enough.

Could you please tell me where the Local files are stored? I don’t see them under C;\programs files or programs files (x86).

Thanks again,
Jordan
