Installing wordpress keeps crashing

I am trying to create a new site, but it keeps erroring that WordPress fails to install.

Any idea on how to get around this?

Me too. Reinstalled VirtualBox, managed to get an old site running but adding a new site goes through all the usual steps, asks for modification of hosts file then simply says Error Installing Wordpress for [sitename] image
Yet another terrible ‘update’ to Local.

Exactly the case for me too.

If you try to open the site anyway, it starts the normal WP instal but, when asking for DB details fails as there aren’t any. There’s no wp-config file created.

Hey @rileyj_s try changing the MySQL to 5.6 ) choose Custom from the Environment tab
