.local domains not resolving osx

Issue Summary

I’ve create a few test sites from scratch, and imported a site from another domain. Every time the .local domain wont resolve, but localhost:*** will. What’s the best way to trouble shoot this?

I’ve also had Valet installed but those services have been stopped and the Local sites restarted several times so Im fairly confident that there isn’t a direct clash there.

Also, I’ve recently ‘upgraded’ to big sur, as I’d been stuck on high sierra due to legacy software requirements. Local would simply not play ball perviously, so am please to have gotten this far.

Troubleshooting Questions

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?
    All sites

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?
    Yes, but it’s not accessible from its .local domain.

In your Local preferences, change from .local to .test.

There may be some issues with dnsbonjour in macOS.
