"Local" stuck in "Checking System..."

My log file says the following:

I have this problem, too. My log file is the same. I removed the Application Support folder and the Local Sites folder, restarted the computer, and reinstalled Local. Same.

Figured it out! Go into /usr/local/bin and delete every file that starts with “vbox*”
