Local updates for new versions of the app

how do we know when a new version of Local is out? Does it update automatically to the latest version?
Is there any sort of roadmap / version history?

There will be an update notice in Local and an e-mail sent out when updates are available

We’ll also be adding a changelog here in the forums or on the site.
