Mysql 5.7 implementation

Hey Guys

I know this feature was requested before.
But is it possible mysql 5.7 will be implemented soon ?
Would really appreciate that because my servers are using 5.7.
Or is there a way to move my wordpress install from production server 5.7 to local install 5.6 ?
I know it isn’t backward compatible :frowning:

Thanks and sorry to ask this again just wanted to be certain.

Users who see this thread: please go here and VOTE for this feature: MySQL 5.7 and MariaDB

MySQL 5.5 and MySQL 5.6 aren’t even supported anymore!
They reached end-of life in 2015 and 2018.
Most webhosts are offering MySQL 5.7 (Maria 10.2) or MySQL 5.6 (Maria 10.1) or lLater. Not 5.5!

This feature was requested 2.5 years ago, in Dec 2016.

Here is another thread on this topic: Php7.2.9 and MySQL 5.7 unavailable in Custom Environnement

Staff even stated as late as Sept 2018 that additional MySQL and PHP options would become available for custom environments. But nothing has been heard since.

MySQL 5.7 came out in 2015! Even it reaches end-of-life next year!

Any app that requires a custom version of PHP must choose to host their app on a host with an expired version of MySQL (or MariaDB) to be most compatible with Flywheel Local.
Or forgo their major point of advertisement, which is the ability to choose MySQL, PHP, and server on an app by app basis, to more match your webhost environment - for testing and development.
