Need to know how to migrate site to a host other than Flywheel/WP Engine

What issue or error are you experiencing?

I’m looking for a good guide on how to migrate a site built on local to a host other than Flywheel/WP Engine. I see that it can be done, but I can’t find a guide on how to do it.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

You have two options here:

  1. Manual migration: You can find detailed instructions online by searching “WordPress migration guide” (or similar). However, this approach can be quite technical.
  2. Plugin: I recommend using a plugin like “All in WP Migration” to simplify the process. This plugin automates most of the steps, making it easier and faster.

If you encounter issues with your SSL certificate after migration, you can use the “Really Simple SSL” plugin for an easy fix. Alternatively, you can address these issues manually if you have server access and technical expertise.
