Starting up Site Services Stuck

I can’t create the website; it keeps loading the screen below and never progresses. I’ve already reinstalled it three times, and it still doesn’t work.
I am using Windows 10.

Could you help me?

Hi @Kadu

We have a Windows Troubleshooting guide below that goes over some common items worth checking. For example, make sure you’re running Local as an admin user, that you don’t have any security blockers, and that Local has access to update your Hosts file.

Thank you very much for your prompt response!

I will check out and see what i can do.

I just checked and the first thing i dont have this file “hosts” do you know how i can get it?

Hi @Kadu

It looks like you’re in the right spot, but if you’re not seeing it, there could be a few different reasons. Are you an admin user on this device? Or is it one that is issued by your employer? It could be that your user doesn’t have proper permissions.

Another could be that it’s hidden, so you could use these steps to check:

  • Open File Explorer.
  • Go to View > Check Hidden items.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\.
  • See if the hosts file exists.

Hello Nick,

It seems that i really dont have the file hosts.
I did check with the hidden items also.
My account is the admin of the machine and i just dont have this file.

What else can i do?

Hi @Kadu - You might have to create one if there currently isn’t on on your device. Here is a similar issue in the Microsoft community with some instructions:
