The REST API encountered an unexpected result

Issue Summary

I can’t run any processes that rely on the REST API.

Troubleshooting Questions

  • Happen for just one site in particular.

Replication

Tools > Site Health says:

The REST API is one way WordPress, and other applications, communicate with the server. One example is the block editor screen, which relies on this to display, and save, your posts and pages.

The REST API call gave the following unexpected result: (404) 404 Not Found

Not Found

The requested URL was not found on this server.

If I go to Setttings > Permalinks, I resave as “Post name” but the issue remains.

System Details

  • Which version of Local is being used?

    • Windows. Can see no way to determine version of Local. I receive no “new version available” prompts.

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?
