Running a few year old Dell with win7-64bit with the newest version of Local…it literally takes 30-45 secs just ‘activating’ or ‘deactivating’ a plugin. 15 secs to switch to another part of the admin.
From the time you hit add page, type in the title and hit publish it’s a full minute.
I’ve spent the entire day trying different things and every answer Google had to offer.
Any other ideas floating around?
Mac user here, so this is purely second-hand hearsay… there have been cases of Local running very slowly on Windows because of some anti-virus software.
A few things that helped me:
- Use a Custom Environment, avoid “Preferred”
- Change the Suffix from .local to something else (I’m using .test)
- Enable Faster Docker Volumes and IPv6 Loopback under Preferences > Advanced
Saw that…didn’t help. Total deactivation of Anti-virus made absolutely no difference.
I was using custom environments and enabled the Faster Docker Volumes and IPv6 Loopback…still no joy. DIdn’t try changing .local to anything else. I just went back to using a random sub-domain on my host and It feels like my computer got a whole new lease on life.
