Total noob getting Error establishing a database connection. Not above begging for help!

My Mac froze up yesterday while working on my site via Local. All was running well prior to that. After a hard restart, I’m receiving the message “Error establishing a database connection.” I’m a noob and don’t understand how to do most of the “fixes” mentioned in the Support forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried to import my site using a zipped file in hopes that it would fix my database, but I get a message stating “Invalid Domain…[my-website-name] is already taken by another site. Please choose a different domain.” I also tried to create a new site on Local and was able to do so successfully. Is there a way to transfer my old files to that site?

I’m attaching my zipped local-lightning.log and my logs files. I’m running macOS 10.13.6. Thanks!

local-lightning.log.zip (7.8 KB) logs.zip (4.2 KB)

Don’t have a fix but it looks like you’re having a similar problem as I have (see ‘Safari/Mac uses wrong certificate - how to fix?’).
I’m guessing the current version of Local messes something up on the Mac so that when you try to access a domain via your web browser, it resolves to a wrong domain. In your case it might be trying to use the database of the old domain you deleted.

I feel like this will be an easy fix for someone who knows what they’re doing. I just don’t want to further damage my site by attempting various fixes.

Yeah, guess we should shell out some money to get premium support. Local is a great product when it works but I feel I don’t have the right to complain using the free version. For now I’m going to save some money and pay for an update of my previous local development environment
